What is PF Withdrawal?

Provident Fund is a retirement benefits scheme that is available to all salaried employees. The Parliament of India approved to introduce the EPFO on 4th March 1952. The main purpose of enacting PF is to help the employees with a single payment after retirement. A part of your salary is deducted as PF every month.

How to find the EPF / PF withdrawal status online?

Check your epf withdrawal status online. Subscribers of EPF can check the status of PF only after submitting withdrawal claim.

  • Go to the EPFO member portal which means : https://epfindia.gov.in/site_en/
  • Select ‘our services’ menu and click on ‘for employees’.
  • Here, choose the ‘services’ tab.
  • Click on ‘know your claim status’ tab.
  • Now, the page is redirected to the claim status link. You need to enter the state of your PF office.
  • Select your PF office from the dropdown list.
  • Enter your code and EPF account number and click on ‘submit’ button.
  • Here you can view the status of your withdrawal.

  •  If the employer has been terminated because of health conditions, or some specific reasons beyond their control then the tax is not applied to the withdrawal irrespective of any years of employment.
  •  Withdrawal of PF below five years becomes taxable.
  • If the employer has claimed under section 80C on their own PF contribution, then it will be taxed as salary.

PF withdrawal process without employer signature:

If you have the left your previous job on bad terms, then it is quite a hassle to get the signature from the previous employees. Earlier, EPFO facilitated the withdrawal only for the members who have the attestation of the previous employees.

But the EPFO made the process easier by realizing the difficulties faced by the employers to get the signature. Making withdrawal became easy for the members with portal id and UAN. There are two ways to get the provident fund withdrawal without the signature. First one is with Aadhar card and second is without an Aadhar card.

PF withdrawal with Aadhar card:

  • Linking the Aadhar card on the member portal of EPFO ensures that you don’t need any signature to continue the process. But the details of your Aadhar card, bank account, and the details you registered on the EPFO’s member portal need to be verified by your employer.

  • To make PF withdrawals download Form 19. If you want to make withdrawals from pension benefits, then download Form 10C.
  • Fill all the details like name, registered mobile number, address, bank details, and the reason for leaving the company and joining date.
  • To get the bank details verified, attach a canceled cheque for the EPFO. Attest all these documents and submit them to EPF office.

PF withdrawal without Aadhar card:

  1. The process becomes wearisome for the members who don’t have an Aadhar card. They need to download the forms 19, 31, and 10C that are available on the EPFO’s member portal.
  2. The members need to enter the genuine information and get a confirmation from the reliable authority. They also need to ensure that they get a signature or stamp from the authority on every page of the form.
  3. The employers have to describe the reason for direct application of withdrawal to avoid the cases of fraud. With all these, they should attach an indemnity bond with a 100 rupee stamp paper and copies of Form 19, payslips, appointment letter, and employee ID card.
  4. Before submitting all the forms attach a copy of KYC, identity, and address proofs. Finally, attest all these documents and submit them to the EPF office.

Online PF withdrawal Procedure at UAN portal:

The process of Pf withdrawal with UAN is similar to the process of net banking. To fill the form online, follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Go to the UAN member portal with means : https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
  •  Enter your login credentials(UAN and password). If you don’t remember the password, you can reset it by entering the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  • The Aadhar needs to be approved and linked to your UAN.
  •  Go to the Manage and select KYC to check the status of Aadhar. Enter the UIDAI to share the credentials with the EPFO. On completion of the process, it gets approved by the employer.
  • Click on the link ‘Online services’ in the UAN dashboard. This provides more information about services and can submit the KYC details. You can change the nomination and download the UAN card.
  •  Click on ‘Claim (Form-31, 19 and 10C)’.
  • At last, you need to verify your Aadhar card by entering the OTP sent to the mobile number registered with Aadhar card. After the submission of OTP, you will get the chance to fill the EPF withdrawal form.

EPF Offline Transfer process

Hi, I am facing password not reset issue & i have two different UAN number so one of them not able to reset password i tried to multiple time now portal showed error ” you have maximum limit reached to sent OTP ” & when all the time i received OTP & proceed to reset password but not reset & change so humble to request to you please provide resolution if possible & also suggest what to do in case ” Two different UAN Account issue”….
